Pillar three

Makeup & skin

Makeup should enhance, not sabotage, your skin. The products you use daily can either support your barrier or contribute to congestion, sensitivity, and premature aging.

Here we share clean makeup principles and ingredient awareness so you can build a routine that looks good and feels good.

Clean makeup tips

Look for non-comedogenic

Products labeled non-comedogenic are formulated to be less likely to clog pores — a good starting point for acne-prone skin.

Read the first five ingredients

Ingredients are listed by concentration. If a known irritant or heavy fragrance appears early, it may not be the best fit for sensitive skin.

Fragrance isn't always your friend

Synthetic fragrance and essential oils can trigger redness or contact dermatitis in reactive skin types.

Remove it gently every night

Sleeping in makeup traps debris against the skin. A gentle, pH-balanced cleanser removes product without stripping the barrier.
